The table shows the observing activities over the last 20 years.
Note I did not observe during 1987 after three very succesfull years.
The period 1980 through 1983 marks the "learning" years in Holland as well as in Puimichel, France.
Many activities occured in 1984 and 1985 when observations were carried out not only
in the Netherlands but also in Puimichel. In 1986 most observations (85%) were performed
in Puimichel.
After the "sabattical" year 1987 one will notice a gradual improvement during 1988 - 1991
when most observations are from Harderwijk, the Netherlands.
1993 marks the beginning of an "era" of expeditions to France (1993 and 1996),
Spain (1995 and 1999) and of cource the great Sino-Dutch Leonid Expedition '98.
In total one quarter of all observating time Teff is acquired from outside the Netherlands. About 47% of all observed meteors are acquired during the expeditions.
Weather in the Netherlands often is bad. Observers located in countries with a
continental climate have a sure advantage.
Over the last five years Koen has succeeded in oberving meteors during almost every
clear night in the Netherlands. The maximum number of observing hours in the Netherlands
is between 80 and 120.
