Visual Observations May 2001

Prepared on June 2, 2001 by Koen Miskotte (Visual section)

Below you will find the visual observations carried out by members of the Dutch Meteor Society in May 2001. Observers never before were able to observe so often in this month. 7 DMS-observers managed to observe 432 meteors on 12 nights!
As you may expect May 2001 was a very sunny month in the Netherlands: we experienced sunshine for 277 hours which normally is only 197 hours. May 2001 was also quite warm in the Netherlands: 14,1 degrees centigrade to normally 12,3 degrees. And with such nice weather it often does not rain much, we only had about 35 mm of rainfall across the country.
